Channelling

Channelling is something rather strange and one of the things connected to mediumship that can be misunderstood, abused by many and, therefore, ridiculed. First of all what is channelling? Channelling is when the spirit world speaks through the medium to give words of wisdom or to teach the world something it is deemed they need to know about for reasons they believe important. It is never used for communicating messages to loved ones in readings, for entertainment purposes or for nonsensical rubbish that some pretend to have received. It is only when the spirit world has something important to say to the world at large that a medium will sometimes be used to pass their words on for all to hear or read.

A good example of this is my book, A Guide’s Guide to Mediumship and Healing. It was a book written by me, but with words the spirit world gave me as they say mediumship needs to be taken more seriously and not used or abused as is so widely seen in today’s world. They wanted to teach how it should be done and by whom. To give reasons why entertainment style mediumship on the scale seen today is so wrong and that the teachings in all spiritualist churches need to be re-examined and changed in order for standards of mediumship to be raised. They feel strongly enough about all of this enough to use me, and others like me, to impart their words to the world.

There is nothing earth shatteringly exotic or strange about it when it happens and there is no trance, strange voices or anything else involved either. Anyone who acts in a weird way, puts on any of the above by acting with strange behaviour, speaking in broken English or whatever else they can think of to make it look like something dramatic is happening is doing just that – acting. The best way for me to say how it happens is to explain how it happened to me.

When I received their words for the book, it was done almost without me being aware it was happening. The first day it started (and every other day till the book was finished) I sat at my laptop to write and immediately words flowed into my mind that I could barely get down quickly enough. I would type and type with no thought of what I was writing down until it would stop as suddenly as it started and I would find myself floundering as to what to write next. At this point I would read back what I had written and be stunned at what had been said. Some of it was answers to things I didn’t even know the questions to at that stage and I wondered where it had all come from for me to write it down. Each day this continued until the book was finished.

It was written in an easy to understand manner and gently put so as to cause no upset to anyone reading it even if they were to disagree with what was being said. The writing is almost flowery, for want of a better way of describing it, and totally unlike my own style which tends to shoot more from the hip.

There was no trance or altered state that I was aware of, just constant words being given to me to write down – a chapter a day until all finished, sometimes two chapters. The strangest thing was what happened when the book was almost finished and I had only two more chapters to write. I had started typing and about halfway through the chapter suddenly became aware of what I was talking about – teaching. I had already done the chapter on teaching and couldn’t understand why I was being given it again when it was already done. I stopped what I was doing and decided that out of interest, I would check this one with the one already done and see how similar they were. The other one was nowhere to be found. It turned out I had deleted it by mistake and them, being aware of that fact, gave it to me all over again. They had known what I hadn’t and it was when that happened any niggling thoughts I’d previously had in my mind about whether it was  actually my higher self or them writing the book went flying out of the window.

So you see, from the above description, you’ll be now aware it is totally undramatic, quiet, uneventful and totally natural when it happens. There is no need to make a big drama out of it or pretend they come with all sorts of strange things happening to the medium, because that isn’t how it is at all. It isn’t even obviously with the medium in an altered state as can often happen with automatic writing. It possibly is with the medium being in an altered state, but it is so gentle it is almost unnoticeable.

Channelling is totally unlike trance and I can see no earthly point in trance as it is usually only ever done as an entertainment by mediums who want to appear different, advanced and superior to those still developing, or to give their audience the shivers as an entertainment at shows or meetings – which it always does – hence lights turned off or right down for atmospherics. It’s at these daft demonstrations that weird voices and all sorts of things are also used to draw in those who are susceptible and will believe everything and anything they’re told true or not. When done like that it’s all a load of nonsense and pure play acting using very low energy spirits as the highest wouldn’t demean themselves in such a way.

The spirit world only ever communicate with us when there is a distinct point to it or a good reason and it certainly isn’t for games or for entertainment value as seen at so many of these stage shows, so don’t for one minute believe any of the weird alleged trance or channelling behaviour you might see as described above is for real – it isn’t.

Fake Mediumship Trances Disgust Me

Last night I had the misfortune to witness a despicable mockery of mediumship. There were three people who all pretended to go into trance and used silly voices and held conversations. We were told to say if we saw anything change on their faces and yet the lights had been turned off. I had gone to the evening to meet someone there and knew it was a spiritual evening, but had no idea this was the ‘entertainment’ for the evening. As soon as the lights were turned off I immediately knew we were in for a fake display fit for RADA.

My face was burning from the moment they started trying to go into trance – a sure sign bad and low energies were around. As I got hotter and hotter, so I could feel my senses being attacked and for one of the few times in my life, I felt a need to ask for extra protection – not just for me, but for everyone in there. I asked my spirit helpers to protect the whole room and all the people in it. There was such a bad atmosphere and the mockery I saw unfolding before me made me so angry I had to leave the room.

It was obvious some people were being taken in by the whole thing, but the good thing that came from it all, was people recognised I was sitting quietly in a corner and came over to me. They asked if I was a medium (which was strange) and when hearing I was, they asked what I had thought of the ‘show’. I tried to be placid and not too rude, after all, each to their own, but I did tell them what they had seen wasn’t mediumship and it wasn’t how I behaved not how any other natural medium would. I ended up with a small crowd around me and to cut a long story short, I now have my first two groups ready to start my psychic development classes.

The ones who approached me and ended up chatting together are a really good bunch of people with lovely energies, so some good came from an otherwise dreadful experience – one I hope never to have to experience again. It is this sort of mockery done under the banner of mediumship that makes me glad I am writing books to teach what is wrong with so much of it today and the spirit world must have placed me there just so I could have the people needed to start my classes as until last night – I had no idea where I was to find them. Now, I am just looking forward to the day we start and I hope to see it grow so word spreads and people start to learn not to go to rubbish such as we saw last night. If they do go, I hope to teach them it is for a laugh and entertainment only  and that it has nothing at all to do with real mediumship or for what purpose mediumship is intended.
