Don’t Forget Your Psychic Side When Developing
When I went to open circles many years ago in a local spiritualist church (very briefly!), everyone was told off for using their psychic ability as well as mediumistic (if they had it). As most of you will know, me and the spiritualist teachings didn’t get along at all as they are very wrong for natural mediums and this was just one of the things they used to say that I couldn’t agree with and still don’t.
The problem today is, most of us end up in these places for lack of anywhere else to go and so all get told not to work psychically and this is when we forget about using our psychic ability all together. When developing, we tend to concentrate just on connecting with the spirit world and forget about our psychic gifts as this is what they encourage us to do and is why so many do awful readings that don’t mean much.
To give a full and good reading, there is nothing at all wrong with using one’s psychic ability during a mediumistic reading. The two marry very well together and both have a place within a reading as natural mediums go easily between the two things as and when we are given information. This is just another of the many differences between natural and forced mediumship. Sensitives do what comes naturally to them without even having to think about it whereas a forced medium has to go through all the rigmarole of opening up, closing down, putting up strange symbols of protection and all manner of things in order to start working and we don’t have to do any of that as we know there is no need.
It is this teaching of being told one must not use their psychic ability when doing a mediumistic reading that can make the difference between a good reading and a mediocre one. It is the same as when people are told in their lessons that they must not give information if doing healing. How daft is that – why not? If you are standing giving healing to someone and information or an image pops into your head why can’t you say it? I have been told spiritualist teachers say it is two different energies or vibrations or something and that’s why it shouldn’t be done. What difference does that make anyway even if it were true?
Now listen, if the spirit world didn’t mean the person to receive the information, they wouldn’t have given it to you in the first place would they? I cannot understand this mentality of man made mediums and teachers that they believe they know better than the spirit world. If you want to give a message or information whilst giving healing then do so. Likewise, if you find you swap from mediumistic into psychic information and back again during a reading then that’s fine too. Basically, do what comes naturally.
If you are man made and wish to go with man made teachings, then that is fine for you, but it isn’t right for natural mediums and so ignore what you’re being told and just do what comes naturally and just watch the difference it makes.

Hypocrisy Seen in Local Spiritualist Church
I had held this back and wasn’t going to publish it, but after recent events with behaviour such as this on the increase amongst some spiritualists I thought I would as this shows another side that needs to be seen.
The other day I heard something which upset me rather a lot. There were a couple of services in the local spiritualist church and what happened so disgusted some people who attended that they rang me to tell me about it. In the morning, the lady who gave a talk was being very vehement in what she was saying. I know the woman in question and have to say I don’t like her at all a she is a very aggressive know it all type. She is very anti anything but what she believes in and is very scathing and nasty about all else and those who dare to have different beliefs than her own. This particular day she didn’t disappoint on any of it.
The term used to me by two different people was, She was spouting anti Christian propaganda’. Others used different terms, but it was strange two people used the same words. I gather, she was saying the word Christ should not be used ever and anything with that word should be banished – as in Christmas. Her hatred of Christ and all connected to those beliefs or those who believe in Him was attacked viciously. Now this woman is quite high up in that church and in the SNU from what I gather. She is also a teacher in the church and has some very strong opinions.
She even once told me that she knew all there was to know about everything to do with our world and she also knew all there was to know about afterlife and the spirit world. She said there were no mysteries to her as she had been chosen as the only person in our world to be told everything about the whole of life, death and all the mysteries surrounding both and she now had the same full knowledge as God (only she didn’t call Him God as she doesn’t believe in Him). At first I thought she was joking as it was over dinner at someone’s house when she said it and I thought she was trying to wind me up. I soon realised she was deadly serious and I was astounded and horrified that this is a teacher in the spiritualist movement and what’s more, one who is highly respected. At least she was till last Sunday and it would seem others have now seen her as I had previously.
Now, quite a few people I know who are spiritualists were horrified by her attack. They had no idea up until then that this particular church was very anti God and Christianity or that she was and have been left shell shocked by an institution they have belonged to for many years without realising this fact. That isn’t the end of the story though. I called another friend of mine who I knew would always answer me truthfully as she is a die hard Spiritualist and always will be. She also gets annoyed with me now and then because I say I don’t like some of their teachings and that they take in just anyone to train as mediums. We agree to disagree on that and respect each other and get on well as friends.
She had heard about what happened in the morning and thought it perfectly acceptable even saying, ‘we do that now and again because it brings other people in’, then she justified it by saying what happened at the evening service balanced it out. What she told me made me even more horrified. Apparently, the evening service was a – wait for it – Christmas Carol Service. Yes, Christmas was the word used. They are also having a Christmas Day Service to celebrate Christmas. So in the morning they were told Christmas and the Christ word was evil and in the evening – well…
Now each to their own and all that. If they don’t believe in Christianity – fine that’s their belief and they are entitled to it. After all, we are all different and what suits one doesn’t suit another so we all have our own ways and paths to go down. Do not spout off in such a nasty anti Christian way though calling it evil and besides, it isn’t us who are allowing some to call up bad energies. Say what you don’t like, after all, I do, but do not say it is all wrong and evil which is what I hear was said. Now, if you have that belief and allow someone who is high up in that church to speak in such a manner so as to even disgust many of the people there, how on earth can you then go on to have Christmas Carol Services and Christmas Day Celebrations in the same church?
There are so many good spiritualists who do a superb job, but this is the sort of person we are seeing more and more of and this is why I act as I do. Strangely, I am seeing more people in the spiritualist movement also trying to make waves in the same way I do to bring about those changes. They are badly needed and the ones who shout the loudest against us are always the ones who are always the least gifted as they know those changes will show their lack of ability.
Is it just me, or do the rest of you feel the same as I and the ones who rang to tell me about this do? I would especially like to hear from other Spiritualists who I know read my posts for their take on it.
