Animals and Heaven
Today I had a conversation with an aunt of mine about religion and mediumship or the spirit world. We are both Catholics, but I have different opinions now than I always used to have. I still believe in God 100%, all religions and I also believe in angels. The thing is, I’m not sure I believe all the things we are told within our given religions.
Christians are taught that animals don’t have souls and yet I cannot accept that. It is easy to accept we humans can have hard lives, cruelty, abuse and all manner of things, if we know that once we die, things are to be wonderful for us and that our rewards will come then, but that explanation doesn’t work if you consider what happens to so many animals. What is the reward for them if they really have no souls and don’t receive their rewards after death? How can the religious leaders explain that away?
Although I still believe in religion, I realise now I am older, that much of it is based on man’s laws and not all God’s. I cannot believe that a God who created every living thing on this planet, would allow such cruelty or badness to happen to anything He created unless rewards were to follow afterwards. Why for man and not beast? That doesn’t fit in with my belief of what God is all about.
There are many things we can’t explain or know the answers to here, but the one about animals is a huge thing for me and my aunt. We adore animals and get very upset when we hear bad things. To think they have had a life of suffering and then just nothing afterwards makes it all seem so much worse to me and to her. My idea of Heaven isn’t one glorious place where we all go and stay forever more, but it is a place of happiness and all good things in between our different lives. How can that be if there are no animals there? Are animals re-incarnated as we are? Do they come back in some other form maybe?
My thoughts are so different now from the teachings I learned as a child and I believe there is a place for animals as well as humans. I am also of the belief that there isn’t any one religion that is correct and the others all wrong. I believe the important thing in life is goodness and living as good a life as possible whether you belong to a religion or not. We have bad things happen and we have good things and although we are told animals cease to exist, I for one don’t believe they do. Their love is unconditional, unlike most humans and I believe their rewards are waiting for them just as ours are.
The spirit world have taught me so much and given me words for my books and other writings at times to do with quite a few subjects. The question about animals though, is one never yet brought up. I shall ask if I can be told about this and see what happens. If I get anything from them at any time, you can be sure I will post it on here if I am allowed to.
