Do Mediums Believe in Heaven or Religion?
This medium does. Maybe not in the sense it is talked about in general, but yes, I am a believer. I believe in God 100%, after all, it’s God who gave me my gifts and who works through me. I also believe religion does have its place in the world but maybe not how most of its followers choose to practice it. All Christian religions (the only ones I have true knowledge of) preach peace, love, forgiveness, loving ones neighbour and all other good things and yet many following these faiths choose to ignore all of that. They twist the laws of the church, (or worse, God’s laws), to suit themselves and say what they do is in the name of God. That is when religion goes wrong, so it isn’t the religion at fault, it is those who profess to follow it.
I also believe in heaven, hell and purgatory. My belief, is that purgatory can be here on earth. After all, just look what many of us has to go through. We make our own hell and we can be rewarded with heaven. Think about it. We all go through this life doing things wrong from time to time. For some, this is just a small thing here and there; for others, it can be huge things or for others again, it is deeds in between the two. Do we really believe we can get away with it all unpunished? What about those who do good and never seem to be rewarded in this life?
There has to be something that balances it all out. Those who have done wrong must be made to see the error of their ways and pay for their misdeeds. Likewise, those who have done good things will be rewarded. It may not be how we are taught in our schools or in church, but then again, the Bible and creation of 7 days wasn’t meant to be taken literally and yet the masses believe that is how it should be taken – literally. Those who wish to ridicule religion and who believe in the 7 day creation as being literal, choose this as something they can laugh about. The last laugh is on them for taking it so literally and not having the intelligence to realise it is simplified especially for our understanding.
The truth is, none of us will know the truth of any of these things until our death. All any of us can do is speculate and yet I, and many like me, choose to believe in God and His ten commandments. I choose to believe there is something far better for us when we leave this earth eventually. I also believe religion is good, but what I don’t believe is the way a lot of people tend to twist it pretending they are following a particular faith when they aren’t and who hide behind the cover of something inherently good in order to sometimes do evil. I also don’t believe all we taught in religion is quite how God intended and I wonder about the true meanings of heaven and hell.
It is said heaven is being able to see God and all his glory; all our illnesses, worries, angst and all other human weaknesses are taken from us and we are in a place where we are rewarded for good lives spent and will have full knowledge. Maybe then, that is the afterlife we call heaven. Hell is a place where people are denied all of the above things. They are trapped in a place where they are denied seeing God and have to suffer, trapped in a hell of their own making and left to suffer for all eternity. Maybe this is the lost souls who miss the light and are trapped here on earth after their deaths only to roam aimlessly neither in this world or the next.
I have no idea what heaven or hell is like, but I do believe in them and maybe the explanations I have given are what they could be. The only thing any of us can know for sure is that we don’t know anything for sure. That might sound like a riddle and I hope it didn’t confuse you, but all the speculation in the world isn’t going to give us the answers we seek. There is no one of this world who can say they know for sure what it’s all about, because they don’t. Scientists can speculate and try to discover the truth and they can delude themselves and you as much as they want to that they know the answers or are close to finding them, but the truth is, no one will ever know the answers while they remain on this earth. All I can say is, I believe because Jesus asked me to believe – and as a healer who He works through, how can I not?
Is Religion Necessary?
In my last post, I talked about animals, Heaven and different religious beliefs. It is interesting listening to different people from other faiths, as most believe theirs to be the one true faith. They can’t all be – or can they? In fact, is religion necessary if you want to be rewarded after death? I choose to believe in God, but what about those who don’t or who have a different belief system to mine and what about those who believe there is no life after death?
When the spirit world talk to me in my writings and tell me various aspects about life after death, they indicate that what we read in the Christian Bible about there being various paths that take us to God is correct. They also indicate there is a Creator. The different paths talked of is the different belief systems we all have whether in a religion or of no religion. The Christian Bible also says the only way to God is through Jesus Christ, but what about those then, who don’t believe in Jesus Christ and only think of Him as a prophet? Does that mean the rest of the people in the world are damned forever? I don’t think so. It doesn’t matter if we are of a particular religion, or no religion. the important thing is good living and trying to do the best we can.
That doesn’t mean religion isn’t important, because it is, especially to those who believe and follow their particular faith properly. The thing is though, most don’t follow it properly and they often act in ways that aren’t in keeping with the rules of their particular church or belief system. There will always be zealots and extremism in any walk of life so why do we think it should be different in religion? Because religion is meant to be about goodness, kindness, selflessness and loving one’s neighbour as oneself and yet many with religious beliefs don’t follow all of these guidelines.
There are many people I have met in live of no belief system at all and they are genuine, good, kind people and I have met many more again who profess to be very devout in the religion they allege to follow and yet they are not any of those things. To me, it doesn’t matter what religion you follow or don’t follow, it is about how you are as a person.
If you profess to be a Catholic, a member of the Church of England, Methodist or any other Christian religion then follow that faith to the letter with no deviations from the path you are told you should be on. The same for Jews, Muslims or any other faith. If you claim to be of that religion, then follow it by the guidelines given and stop making your own rules up as you go to suit yourselves, which is what many do.
I have met so many people who are self-righteous because they call themselves a member of a particular religion. The self-proclaimed devout followers often preach to others about the way they live and yet they themselves are often not actually following their chosen religion properly. Their very behaviour in preaching like that to others is a prime example of what is wrong in their behaviour.
God guides us gently and gives us free will, why then do others believe they should take that free will away from us and lead us in a harsh and sometimes threatening manner? The more zealous people are the more they seem to twist things to fit in with their own lifestyle. That is being hypocritical and I prefer the more honest people who don’t profess to follow a thing and yet lead far better lives. We are human and as humans have human frailties so I don’t say all who follow religions and slip from the path along the way are wrong, they aren’t.
I am talking of people who deviate quite a way off their chosen path and yet think they are allowed to ridicule or condemn another for their belief whatever it is. Others who can be offensive are those who are of the same faith as another and yet believe themselves to be the only ones following properly and who are proud and vain about their devotion. In another vein, some of the worst offenders can be those with no belief system at all who ridicule those who believe in God and then make it their life’s work to seek people out in order to verbally attack and abuse them. Luckily, they are in the minority and are usually quite harmless and best ignored.
Religion like all things, is good if followed and practised properly and quietly. Each person in this world was given free will by their Creator to make up their own minds how they lived and behaved. For those who don’t believe in a Creator, that too is them exercising the free will given to them. To each his or her own and whatever it is you choose to do with your life I am sure that goodness in all forms will one day be rewarded whether you believe in religion or not.
