How To Know If You’re a Medium – New Book

How To Know If You’re A Medium

(Now available to buy - for details see at end of this post)

This evening, I decided to upload a part of my new book to a writing site called, Authonomy. It is a site for writers and run by Harper Collins. I doubt I’ll leave it up there for very long as I want to keep it under wraps for now hence I’m only showing a small part of it. It isn’t in order as I have left out the entire introduction, taken bits out here and there and only uploaded the required amount for it to be seen. If you want a sneak preview of part of the book you can CLICK HERE  I would love you to leave comments about what you think and you can do so on this post or on Authonomy, but you might have to register with them to do so. SINCE WRITING THIS, THE BOOK HAS NOW BEEN DELETED FROM THAT WRITING SITE

Registering there isn’t a bad idea if you like reading, as you can get to read a lot of books just being written by authors at their early stages and can even leave comments to help them change things to improve it whilst still at the writing stage. Most interesting it is too. To read mine, you will see the numbers 1, 2 and 3 at the top of the writing and you just need to click on them in order to read the next page. Hope you like it, happy reading, Lorraine x

  1. Hello Rose, lovely to see you – hope you’re well? Thanks so much for your lovely comments about my latest offering. It is unedited at the moment and I have yet to go through it all. However, I think American and English punctuation can be very different.
This topic often comes up on Authonomy in the forums as even quotation marks are different. One country uses single quotation marks and the other double. American English puts a comma before the word ‘and’ and British tend not to except in certain situations. Also, the word whom is used very sparingly in English but much more so in American grammar.
I am hoping the use of comma you talk of is more down to those differences, but I shall look for that in particular when editing, so thank you so much for your observations – most helpful and constructive. xx

  2. In reading the sections on Authonomy I find that the length of the questions and answers is perfect. The information is exciting and you just want to quickly jump from one section to the next, and you can do it without feeling you’re losing something because the sections are well-marked and the headings are bold. I did notice that there are some issues with the placement of commas, but I don’t know how concerned you should be, ultimately, about that. What I mean is, if someone is not going to take your work seriously because the comma placements are off in certain parts, then they were going to find something or other to reject, anyway. However, I’m not sure if you want a “perfect” product, i.e. how important those tiny little details are to you and your readers. Like I said, the information is exciting and if you’re reading quickly then you don’t even notice the comma placement issues. Rose
